While researching adiponectin, scientists discovered another interesting feature: thin people have much higher levels of the hormone compared to people that struggle with weight. This is because adiponectin is capable of boosting the fat-burning process in our body, favouring the burning of fat that accumulates due to stress, a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet in particular.
